My company held “Task Force” meetings several times a year with a couple hundred utility executives and senior utility engineers. One year around 1990, a meeting was held in San Jose, California. The hotel we booked failed to tell our meeting planners that “FurCon” was being held in San Jose at the exact same time as our meeting. Imagine the serious, straight-laced utility people surrounded by “furries.” That was some serious weirdness.
