Jon Ryan Schaffer, the frontman of the band Iced Earth, has agreed to cooperate with investigators in hopes of getting a lighter sentence, and the Justice Department will consider putting Schaffer in the federal witness security program, U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta said.

This signals that federal prosecutors see him as a valuable cooperator as they continue to investigate the militia groups and other extremists involved in the insurrection on Jan. 6 as Congress was meeting to certify President Joe Biden’s electoral win

Transactional justice. They get you to roll in exchange for a lighter sentence so the government prosecutors can keep the ball rolling. Hopefully the Judge hearing the case will be reluctant to play along.

How about investigating ALL of the organized rioters, regardless of party affiliation?

“Cooperation” means implicating those the government wants implicated. They have a list.

insurrection.... they keep using that word incorrectly.

jan 6th was not a call to overthrow people in govt.
it was a call by the people for those in govt to adhere to the law.

they’ve refused.

insurrection happens sometime after that moment.

Jon Schaffer has valuable information for the DOJ. Schaffer may be able to name others who engaged in trespassing and disorderly conduct during the riot.

The plea marks a new stage in the historic investigation, as prosecutors seek to work up the chain of defendants to gather evidence and better understand the full scope of any planning and organizing of the violence — particularly among groups like the far-right Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys. Dozens of members from both groups appeared to act in concert to storm the building, prosecutors have alleged.

Peter Skinner, a former federal prosecutor, called it a “huge” development, saying such cooperation deals are “what the government needs to investigate and possibly prosecute the leaders of the organization.”

Acting deputy attorney general John P. Carlin praised the FBI and prosecutors for averaging more than four arrests a day since the insurrection, saying they “have worked tirelessly for the last 100 days to bring those who committed criminal acts to justice.”

ANTIFA and BLM have proven connections to democrat leadership.
this is why the FBI will not touch them.

the FBI was politicized during 0bama.

as such, we are no longer a nation of laws.

instead, we have cute little guidelines which will be inflicted
on the political enemies of the left by their political operatives
within the various govt agencies.

DOJ Is Reportedly Investigating Ex-Trump Official Who Debunked The Russia Collusion Narrative

Kash Patel, the former GOP congressional aide who uncovered the FBI’s surveillance abuse against the Trump campaign, is the target of a federal leak investigation, according to a report from The Washington Post.

David Ignatius, a columnist for the Post, reported Friday that two sources familiar with the probe said that Patel is being investigated for unauthorized disclosures of classified information.

The investigation was sparked by a complaint made by an intelligence agency, according to Ignatius.

By his own admission, Patel has ruffled feathers in the intelligence community, FBI and Justice Department due to his aggressive efforts to unlock details of the counterintelligence investigation against the 2016 Trump campaign.

Patel served as an investigator for Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee before joining the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and the Defense Department during the Trump administration.

While working on Capitol Hill, Patel played a central role in the investigation that uncovered details about the infamous Steele dossier, as well as the FBI’s use of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants against former Trump campaign aide Carter Page.
