A bill that would make Native American Day a paid judicial holiday and remove Columbus Day as a paid holiday was passed 16-0 in the Assembly Appropriations Committee on Wednesday, sending the bill to a full Assembly Hearing.

Great the overpaid underworked California state workers get another paid holiday. I think that makes 14 paid holidays per year.

Removing a day to commemorate an explorer who proved you can reach the East by sailing West (that the world is round); and giving it to Native Americans is more like a Participation Trophy than a honor.
