Israel celebrated its 73rd Independence Day on Thursday, in a nearly coronavirus-free environment as municipalities allowed thousands of vaccinated Israelis to gather for celebrations.
The solemnity of the previous day, the annual Memorial Day for fallen soldiers and victims of terror, slipped away in a matter of minutes to fireworks, jubilation and parties throughout the country...
Experts have said that Israel, which ran an aggressive vaccination drive, has achieved “a sort of herd immunity” to the coronavirus.
More than 5.3 million Israelis — out of a total population of 9.2 million — have received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, and 4.9 million were administered both doses. (this is most adults, as minors are generally not vaccinated there, and make up about 1/3 of the population)

Do you know if Israel has reported any cases of side effects or deaths?
Should there be an “outbreak”, they’ll crucify the unvaccinated.
Good news. I had to laugh a bit, about the girl in the pic with mask under the chin. Just thinking how we are told to keep wearing our masks even if we had the vaccine. This may be how we end up, always having a mask.
In the beginning I think there were a few cases but overall people have been fine. Basically Israel has been completely open for about a month now. People go to shops, restaurants, with NO mask..my brother in law’s niece she is 15 yrs old she is already vaccinated
That’s great until a tourist brings it in. The African variant eats Pfizer vax for breakfast.
Don’t forget the “Brazil variant”. There will be 100 more variants.
All requiring yearly vax updates. /shiny side out
Why does Adolf have a little smile? They have accomplished what he could not.
If viruses mutate ever few hours won’t that make any vax, whether it works or not moot?
You can view Israel’s China virus stats here:
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/israel/
In just 10 weeks the average of number of new cases has decreased from over 80,000 per day to 3,000. The death toll has decreased from around 80 per day to 2 or 3. All while Israel has opened up restaurants, gyms, arenas, etc., to crowds of people with no masking or social distancing.
Operation Warp Speed is yet another reason for Israel, and the USA, to thank God that that Trump was President last year. The rapid development, and mass production, of vaccines under this program is unlike anything else in history.
Love your post.
God Bless President Trump!
F_ck China germ warfare!
“In the beginning I think there were a few cases but overall people have been fine. Basically Israel has been completely open for about a month now.”
And Florida has been open longer than that.
bump
“The African variant eats Pfizer vax for breakfast.”
That is a mis-interpretation of the recent Clait Study out of Israel, which found the South African variant was more common (proportionally) among those cases were a vaccinated person contracted COVID, that it was among a sample of unvaccinated COVID cases.
Overall, vaccinated people were sill 10 or 20 times less likely to contract COVID of any variety.
But of the 400 cases they sampled were a vaccinated person had contracted COVID, 8 of them were the S.African variant (2%). Among their control group of 400 unvaccinated people who contracted COVID, only 1 was of the S.African variety (0.25%).
It seems that Pfizer may be less effective against the S.African variant (something like 93% effective, vs. 95% for the original strain).
But that study had not yet been peer-reviewed, so there could well be confounding variables.
Since it was conducted among free people (rather than highly controlled laboratory animals), those people could vary in so many ways.
Were some with the S.African variants ethnically Ethiopian Jews, with special ties to African communities? Was there a difference in the prevalence of the S. African variant in the part of the country where the cases were from? Age or gender differences? Occupations?
But even when a vaccinated person does contract COVID, their outcomes (Hospitalization or mortality) are much better than when an unvaccinated person does.
400 is a pretty good sample size, from a statistical perspective, so there is a good chance that the observation (that this variant is slightly more effective in breaking through that the original), will survive peer review.
Nonetheless, very few Pfizer vaccinated people contract any form of COVID, including the South African strain.
You are misreading the graphs. 84000 to 3000 are the numbers of active cases, not new cases per day. New cases per day are down aroud 100.
That’s great until a tourist brings it in. The African variant eats Pfizer vax for breakfast.
And, Ivermectin most likely eats the *African* “variant” for breakfast.
😉
Mark my words: It won’t last.
