Baffled by this... what is the reasoning????
See my post #37. It is for large corporate farms that milk 2000-5000+ cows per day.
That number of cows produce lots of sh*t. Leaving it on the ground and run off during rainstorms would kill all life in streams, creeks and rivers for miles around.
We have the same laws in my state but small family run farms are exempt.
topsoil is racist....
ARIZONA CROP ROTATION:
Cotton
Corn
Sorghum
Subdivision
Soils are depleted too
Wisconsin has BEAUTIFUL cropland. We take care of it, and it takes care of us.
I live in an area of our state that is called the 'Driftless Area' which means the glaciers of old never touched us and we are hilly beyond belief. EVERY crop-growing field is terraced so the soil doesn't erode away.
Here's a good example of what Farmer Watkins SHOULD have been doing all these years:
Heh!
[ So, untold billions of ton of topsoil just vanished?
Or, are farmers in the cornbelt now paying the price of not using the “crop rotation” plan that has been popular in the midwest for over 100 years?
There is a reason you don’t plant corn in the same field, year after year.

Farm Bill: We need to encourage crop rotation, here is meager pay out to do that.
Also the Farm Bill: FAT CORN SUBSIDIES, COME GET YOUR FAT CORN SUBSIDIES!
Large Corn Agribusiness: ( hand rubbing intensifies )
I know farmers who would want to plant other crops, but will not because if they do they are making a hell of a risk and they LOSE their farms if it don’t pay off.
yup, saw the answer right after i posted. Thanks for the response.

The cheaper the cost for fuel the easier it haul the shit back out to the fields.
Farming relative of mine used to buy crap by the truckload to spread in their fuels, thanks to Biden and rising fuel costs, they feedlot would have to literally PAY HIM to haul it away.
oooo man ooo man and i thought my little hills, hollars and draws where a lot to walk chasing hunting dogs. Not sure this old man could run his dogs there. My word thats beautiful..
And when toilet paper runs scares in supply, use a corn cob or corn husk
[ “Don’t forget the corn lobby’s addiction to pushing corn syzurp”
Which is cheaper because of sugar tariffs. ]
“Big Sugar” also loves it as they can sell the cheaper real sugar to europe, canada, etc.. etc... while price fixing the “corn sugar” here.
Also those same powers pushed the “Fat is bad for you” crap while indirectly promoting/pushing “fat free” items that are loaded with sugar to compensate.

and ethanol. Do you think money is involved?
My uncle used to raise cows, pigs, hay and crops. They were rotated in his fields. He hardly had any soil and fertilization expenses. Maybe the corporate farms are ignoring that facet of farming. I’m not a farmer but I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.
Not trying to be disagreeable, RTM, but not all counties ban manure spreading - it’s just the retarded ones like Milwaukee County that doesn’t want any smelly poop ruining their ‘Champagne and Cigar Parties’ as they plot their evil deeds against the rest of us. ;)
Also, they don’t want runoff going into Lake Michigan, which I kind of agree with.
However, human waste can be spread anywhere. And it is!
They market it as ‘Metrogro’ and it comes from people! PEOPLE! ;)

Re: Cow Manure. This is from a 2018 article:
“Under the regulations, farms with less than 2 feet of topsoil would be prohibited from spreading manure. Factory farms are already required to follow that prohibition. Farms with between 2 feet and 20 feet of topsoil would have to follow a web of gallon restrictions and annual spread rates depending on soil depth. Liquid and solid manure would have to be treated to substantially reduce pathogen levels.
The restrictions would apply to Door, Kewaunee, Brown, Manitowoc, Calumet, Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Dodge, Washington, Ozaukee, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Walworth, Racine and Kenosha counties.”
These are all counties in the EAST of the state, which don’t have as many farms as they used to.
>>and ethanol.
food for fuel
Sewage sludge is a mixture of domestic, industrial hazardous and non-hazardous waste
Corn, like soybeans, are “scavenger crops”, needing only a few inches of soil to grow. Very shallow-rooted, they rely on semi-fertile soil and lots of water to produce a decent yield.
No. The carbon-rich topsoil evaporated due to rising climate temperatures and is now aggravating the climate change. And it is also causing racism and homophobia, too!
What a disaster!
