She is a 20 year cop. On previous posts I discussed with other freepers some of the consequences of the "honor code among cops".

I hope she rides this out and doesn't do anything rash.

The account I've heard suggests that she made a mistake. "S***,I just shot him" were her words IIRC. Assuming she had been a decent,respectable cop in the past (few,if any,believable complaints...few,if any,disciplinary problems) then this could be said to be a "horribly tragic accident".

Years ago Chris Rock did a skit for his TV show called "How Not To Get Your A$$ Kicked By The Police". It's still all over youtube. Long story short it gives *very* good advice to *everyone*...young,old,male,female,white,black...to not be stupid when dealing with the cops.

The dead kid was a filthy punk...there was an arrest warrant on him for holding a woman at gunpoint while trying to rob her. If he hadn't acted like a filthy punk during that stop he'd still be alive.

I think I detect a pattern here. How about you?
