Ukrainians have never considered themselves to Russians. They have never wanted to be part of Czarist Russia or Communist Russia. They want to be Ukrainians. Free people, independent of Russia and left alone by Moscow. If Putin pushes this he'll get his ass kicked. Russia is in no shape to fight a war or even a ''regional conflict''.

Yes, if the Russians tried to take Kiev, they’d have big problems, but these are the Eastern provinces that are mostly ethnic Russians.
