The police officer who fatally shot a Black man during a traffic stop in a Minneapolis suburb apparently intended to fire a Taser, not a handgun, the city’s police chief said Monday.
Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon described the shooting as “an accidental discharge.” The state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was investigating.
“Taser! Taser! Taser!” the officer is heard shouting on her body cam footage released at a news conference. After firing a single shot from her handgun, the car speeds away and the officer is heard saying, “Holy [expletive]! I shot him.”

And yes, I know the person shot was a perp. But it’s deeply troubling the levels of firearm safety (and consequently, firearm training) in some police departments.
I doubt many would qualify for typical pistol standards.

Years ago, in a CCW, I was talking with the instructor about Tasers.
He was against the pistol style ones. Not because they were more accurate or less effective, but because under a high stress situation the Taser felt the same as a service pistol.
Not funny in anyway .
More hardworking people will now have their property destroyed .

Clean up the mess in your ranks. I WANT to support the police, but the combative attitude and closing of ranks when wrongdoing occurs makes it really hard to do so.

When politicians in the 70s decided that police departments were too male-dominated, and started to “fix” it, is when the decline in policing occurred. And now, here we are.

My sister is a retired LEO. She is NEVER wrong. “she’s the law” When she is proven wrong, she is amazed.
Unintended actions happen during high stress situations ....wouldn’t it be so much better if Devante had gotten out of the vehicle to face his warrant and expired tag...
