It depends on how you define the "base" of the GOP.
“Base,” is a good word to describe the core of the Republican Party who hated President Donald J. Trump.
My use of the word is to describe a person devoid of manners, uncouth and lowly. That is really a good description of John Boehner!
Ted Cruz is brilliant when compared to Boehner.
