How are customers supposed to believe that spending $2.5 billion (of ratepayer's money, not shareholders) is now in our best interest in order to close two well-performing, environmentally superior units when 15 years ago Xcel told us spending $190 million to upgrade them was in our best interest to keep the units running through 2035?

Xcel is a Minneapolis- based monopoly ...

Lefties dream about intermittent, not reliable electrical production that does not work when the wind does not blow ( or blows too hard ) and when the sun is not shining..

When we do transition to the assuredly intermittent solar/wind supplies and the inevitable blackouts occur, we should pledge to travel to each and every mega house in those special districts and note whether or not they have a private generator.

If they do, destroy it. Let the b*stards freeze to death in the dark just as we will have to.

I have become convinced that the only way to fight this is to get off the grid and become self sufficient. Not sure if I personally can do it but I’m mulling over what it would take.
