While death and hospitalization are certainly of serious concern, most of these "adverse reactions" don't sound that bad.
I had my second shingles shot about a month ago. The next day, I felt like I'd been hit by a truck. Flu-like symptoms, shoulders and knees hurt like hell. Did I have an "adverse reaction"? I don't know, but I didn't report it, and two days later I ran 3 miles.
Reported it to my doctor a couple of weeks later at my annual checkup. He didn't seem concerned.
A friend said "Sounds like you have a good immune system."

Indeed, death may be labeled one of the more adverse reactions.
