Over a conservative judge’s angry dissent, a federal appeals court refused Thursday to let a group of Republican-led states try to revive a Trump administration rule that denied legal status and work permits to noncitizens who accept public benefits, such as food stamps and Medicaid.

Out of 544,000 legal immigrants who apply for green cards each year, the Trump administration said 382,000 would be covered by the new rule and would have to submit forms showing their ability to support themselves.
So two thirds of legal immigrants coming into our country every year are taking advantage of taxpayer funded programs. Who knows how many illegal immigrants are accessing the same benefits. I thought immigrants were a plus to our country. Go figure.

In the last wave of immigrants(1880-1920) there were no benefits available. A third of them returned to the old country-couldn’t hack it here. We were left with the stronger ones. Worked out pretty good. Then there was Roosevelt turning away the St. Louis. We just might need a ‘safe zone’ somewhere-heard it before?

The ninth is pretty much always right.

Trumps “rule” was I am guessing an EO. As such why didn’t Biden just write a new EO in effect cancelling Trump’s?
Why are the Courts even involved?

WTF? So Obama’s “rules” stand as law when Trump overrides but Trumps laws don’t?
That’s BS and inconsistent even against the ninth circus’ previous rulings!

I bet it’s less than a hundred hard core communistic judges who are issuing most of these anti- American or just plain destructive rulings.

My grandfather was in that wave. He had to prove that he had family who would support him in order to get in.
