Standard operating procedure now for the DOJ / FBI is to smear their political opponents and use the corrupt media to push the story. After all there is no consequence, even if they’re caught. Consider Clinesmith, the FBI lawyer, blatantly lied to the FISA court by criminally altering documents which proved Flynn was working *with* the CIA to make it look like Flynn was not working with them, but was instead being investigated. Clinesmith was fined $100. No jail. No disbarment.
