Former President Donald Trump on Thursday issued a full-throated reelection endorsement for Sen. Rand Paul.

The Kentucky Republican will be seeking a third term in office during the 2022 election contest.

"Rand Paul has done a fantastic job for our Country, and for the incredible people of Kentucky," Trump said in the statement. "He fights against the Swamp in Washington, the Radical Left Liberals, and especially the destructive RINOS, of which there are far too many, in Congress.

"Rand will continue to stand up for our great AMERICA FIRST policies because he believes in stopping wasteful spending, defending our Second Amendment rights, and taking care of our Military and our Vets. I am proud to be working with Rand in our battle to Make America Great Again. He has my Complete and Total Endorsement for another term in the U.S. Senate. The Commonwealth of Kentucky has a true champion in Rand Paul," Trump declared.

Unlike his father, Rand Paul actually believes in libertarianism.

I hope he wins re-election.

I supported Rand in the presidential primary, and went to Trump for the general. Happy to see Trump give him the thumb’s up.

I’m really hoping that Rand Paul will be the GOP nominee in 2024. He is unique in so many good ways.

(And yes, I’m a huge Trump supporter. But his time as a politician has past. It pains me to have to say that. But I now see The Donald as an influential and valued elder statesman.)

I like Paul in the Senate and Trump in the Whitehouse.

It was my position in 2020 and will be my position in 2024.

Paul is an excellent advocate for the legislative branch of government. If you’re a parliamentarian he’d be an excellent candidate.

Trump is about strong leadership and executive power, which is what I like in a President.

Which is pretty amazing considering that Senator Paul opened the first Republican debate in 2015 with a blistering attack on then candidate Trump. Shows that hatchets can be buried.

Too bad. Rand voted to certify the potato, along with unlimited voter fraud. Planned to vote against it, but used the so-called “incursion” as an excuse to change his mind.

The trouble is he is going no where in the Senate career wise. I think he would be a good VP pick. I don’t think he can win the nomination as the GOP isn’t ready.

Paul voted to certify the stolen election. He’s a lightweight gasbag who is right where he belongs in the Senate.

President Trump’s time in politics is done when he says it is done.

Your opinion is worthless on the matter.

“Paul voted to certify the stolen election.”

This. I can’t get over it. Will never get over it.

Well, yes. He will be influencing GOP politics (in a good way) for years to come. That’s what I meant by “elder statesman”. I just don’t see him being a politician (running for office) any more. Age catches up to all of us.

I’m sorry if that somehow upset you.

What makes you think his father doesn’t?

His father may have libertarian impulses at all, but his voting record is such that, as long as the vote was either completely safe or that there was no hope of winning, he would only vote then for libertarianism. otherwise, he was a pretty solid Republican voter.
