Hello Senior citizen,
According to Webster’s, an “artist” is: a person who creates art (such as painting, sculpture, music, or writing) using conscious skill and creative imagination. So this counts! Unless of course, you were born before 1828 which would be before Webster’s dictionary. If so, my apologies. You’re truly old and would think the word “artist” was just someone who paints. Just my humble thoughts!

I won’t say how old I am. But I will say I told Colonel Jackson to take a little bacon and take a little beans when he went to meet the bloody British in the town of New Orleans.
A friend of mine even wrote a song about it.
