For the 24 hours since the prior report:

Doses Delivered: 4.1 Million (Good day) (848,000 J&J, Big day)

Total Administered: 3.4 million (Good) (372,000 J&J - above average)

New People Receiving 1st Dose: 2.1 Million (Good)

People Fully Vaccinated: 1.8 Million (Good)

Big inventories on hand (54.5 million).

% Total Population with at least a First Shot: 33.7% (up 0.6)

Those ≥ 18 Years of Age (Adults): 43.2% (up 0.8)

Those ≥ 65 Years of Age: 76.9% (up 0.5) (58.4% Fully Vaccinated - up 1.0)

Daily Deaths trending down, Cases flat, but New Hospitalizations for the day jumped upward on this report (5 Apr to 6 Apr).

There is a larger lag in reporting new hospitalizations, and this might be an accounting adjustment, catching up from reporting fewer on Easter.

New Hospitalizations have been edging up slightly over the last two weeks, so the jump on this report (https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#new-hospital-admissions ) may be acceleration of a real trend of some sort.

With more than three-quarters of the more vulnerable and front line people vaccinated, they’re beginning to vaccinate the remainder of the general population in more locations now.

...more than three-quarters of the more vulnerable and front line people vaccinated...

This explains the rapid decrease in the death rate. 80% of the deaths from this disease came from a demographic that is now 77% vaccinated, according to the CDC.

Just a few days after the CDC released updated data showing that more than 2,200 deaths of individuals who had received either the Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccines had been reported as of Mar. 26

“The same time we started the superspreader invasion from South of the Border”

That could explain why cases are flat (illegals don’t go for tests), but hospital admissions are up (they just show up at the ER when they need medical treatment).

“more than 2,200 deaths of individuals who had received either the Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccines had been reported as of Mar. 26”

...out of over 100 million of the oldest and sickest Americans (about 1 in 50,000).

How does that compare to the average (including nearly every resident in Long Term Care or Hospice)?

Certainly could be the case but haven’t seen it here, and we do have a large Hispanic population in this area.
Early on it was noticeable and also Marshallese.

It is just a few hundred increase (daily new hospital admissions), across the whole Country - but it seems like it could be a trend, looking at the chart.

It could be a fluke, or might reverse again quickly - we’ll see.

But hundreds of people every night are crossing the border and being released, just in McAllen, Texas. More than 10% were testing positive, when they were doing tests.

Putting them right on buses (or planes), wherever they want to go in the US (spreading virus through transportation nodes along the way.

Every day, in every border State.

Marshallese? That seems like a local specialty. Are they there for a particular industry or something?

I had a boss from AK, and his family raised chickens for Tysons. They had it down to a science - a pretty turnkey operation.

Another co-worker from AK had been in the rice farming business there (apparently AK is a main rice producer as well).

Chicken and rice. Nice combo.

For Your Situational Awareness.

MSN reports:

“Meanwhile, the Midwest is on the verge of a relapse. In the last week, COVID-19 hospitalizations increased 11% on average among adults under 50 compared to the prior week. But in the Midwest, those hospitalizations jumped 42%.

The hardest hit state is Michigan”
