For those of us with hearing problems, who reply on lip reading to really understand what’s being said, that line was crossed a year ago.
If you tell someone that you can’t understand them without seeing their lips, they then start to mask-mumble even louder until it is tantamount to an incomprehensible zombie raving.

I still don’t understand:
(A) Why press conferences are given by speakers who are wearing masks muffling what it is they are trying to say (Just issue a press release)
and
(B) since the public cannot attend the press conferences and are not at risk, why is there an unmasked sign language interpreter at the event instead of just using SUBTITLES/closed captionining that even those who are NOT deaf would be able to read?
