In before the math chimps start mixing apples, oranges and bananas to downplay the benefit of vaccines.
I’m not saying that this article should not be posted. I just know what always comes parading through the comments afterwards.
I don’t care whether one gets a vaccine or not based on their own personal risk assessment. But it is downright evil when commenters lie to people using skewed numbers to make them think that the risk of the vaccine outweighs the benefits based on anything other than their own age, sex, and health conditions.
I agree with you. The problem with Covid is similar to most of the problems we have in our public discourse today.
Any writer or pundit can cherry pick a data point or use a debatable assertion and write whatever they want. It happens on both sides of the political spectrum, but the left was particularly insidious about it when “orange man bad” and here we are.
I too think people should do as they see fit, but the lack of understanding about what the vaccine is and is not as well as the data about Covid is a mess!
I personally know 4 people who had the Pfizer vaccine, and were diagnosed with covid later. 2 were Pfizer employees who got first dibs on the shot, and tested positive 6 weeks later, 2 developed it days after the second shot.
