Testing has shown that the first shot gives a big initial boost to neutralizing antibodies, but that those levels drop down after a few weeks. The second shot jumps those levels way up and keeps them higher, longer.

Nothing bad would happen if you only got one shot, but you wouldn’t have the full protection of the two doses. I believe the last figure I saw was something like 60% after several weeks, down from 80% initially.

Thanks for the info. I’m not getting it right now, but my 24 year old daughter has had the first one. My 27 year old daughter has had both. They don’t listen to me.
