Gov. Gavin Newsom is scheduled to visit San Francisco on Tuesday, as he announced that California now has the lowest positivity rate in the country.
He didn't provide a comparison but as of Tuesday, the state's positivity rate was 1.6%.
More than 58,000 people in California have died from the virus, and several states are seeing surges in cases driven by new virus variants.

Maybe, but CA COVID ICU patients are at the lowest level since they started tracking in Mar 2020. Less than 500 in a state of 40M people. Just a few weeks ago, the "California variant" was going to cause a fourth wave. Looking at the hospitalization/ICU charts, COVID is dying fast in CA.

Older, sicker people are mostly vaccinated now, so even if cases go up, they will be younger, healthier people. Fewer will be hospitalized or die. I hope CA is still smart enough to kick Newsom out of office, but even if we do, we will likely replace him with another leftist ass.
