Years ago, I was in DC.
I stopped by the House Judiciary Committee’s office and got a copy of the committee’s research and debate on the Hastings impeachment. I still have it somewhere.
This guy was 110% guilty as sin. The vote in committee and on the House floor was overwhelmingly bi-partisan. IIRC, a couple of members of the Congressional Black Caucus even voted FOR his impeachment.
But sadly, garbage floats to the top and a few years later, he was elected to Congress.
