There are people at my workplace who will put on a mask to walk from their desk to the kitchen or the copy room, but who will then be seen talking maskless and in close proximity to co-workers at other times. Some people are also very skittish about being near others in the kitchen and will almost run away if someone walks near them in that room, but will later go maskless into the same person’s office and stand next to their desk to discuss work.
There have also been people who habitually coughed, sneezed and cleared their throats all day long even before COVID and continued to do so during COVID, but who would run to office manager in a panic to try to get someone sent home if they heard another person cough a few times.
It’s been kind of crazy to observe.
At work, I have to wear a mask at my desk. I’m the only person on the floor. I guess they don’t want me to infect the people that aren’t there...or the mice that have appeared.
