i kinda appreciate electricity, running water in the home, and a vehicle i can just jump in and drive anywhere anytime i feel the need to do so...

That's always been my argument. Why would anyone want freezing temperatures? Yes, some people like to go skiing. But they can move near the mountains.

All plants and animals (and insects) do better when it is warmer.
