Come, you pole-dancers and Sunday School Teachers and crazy old cat ladies, come to the feast!
Come, you snotty-nosed brats and dirty old men and abortionists, come to the feast!
Come, you Bible-thumping Baptists and smells-and-bells Anglicans and holier-than-thou Lutherans, come to the feast!
Come, you virgins and porn stars, you pious and predators, you straight-as-an-arrow and you LGBTQs, come to the feast!
It is finished. The Lamb has been slain. His blood has painted the wicked world white. His table is laden with life. And there’s a place setting with your name written on it. Come to the feast!
Have you slept with more people than you can remember? Come to the feast and be welcomed as a pure virgin in Jesus the righteous one.
Have you murdered and stolen and raped and devastated life after life along the way? Come to the feast and be welcomed as a saint by the Holy One of God.
Have you vomited up more meals than you’ve digested, cut yourself just to feel something real, starved yourself to skin and bones just to feel un-fat? Come to the feast and be welcomed as drop-dead gorgeous by the One who is Incarnate Love.
Have you faithfully prayed, fasted, done devotions, served in soup kitchens, tithed from your gross income, and memorized 1000 Bible verses? There’s room at the table for you, too! Come to the feast and be welcomed by him who takes away your filthy righteousness and clothes you with his own.
Come to the tomb of Jesus and laugh at the ugly, deformed, twisted face of death.
Come to the throne of Jesus, let the Father hug you and kiss you and wipe your tears away.
Come to the feast where evil and good, wise and foolish, shameful and shaming are welcomed as citizens of the kingdom.
Let no one say, “I am unworthy,” for Christ makes you worthy.
Let no one say, “I have sinned too much,” for your sin is no longer your own.
Let no one say, “I don’t believe enough,” for Christ has trusted perfectly in your stead.
Let no one say, “I have blasphemed,” for Jesus has exchanged your curse for a blessing.
Go to the highways and byways, bars and alleys, nursing homes and hospitals, seminaries and sex shops, and bring them to the feast. Everything is ready. Let no one be left hungry. Gather all and bring them in.
Go to the highways and byways, bars and alleys, nursing homes and hospitals, seminaries and sex shops, and bring them to the feast. Let no one be left behind.
The world—the whole jacked-up, navel-gazing, sin-loving, evil-addicted world—has been set right by the God who died and rose again.
All are forgiven. All are covered. All are welcome.
Come, one and all, come to the Easter feast!
Amen! Grace is for everyone.
Remorse?
Belief?
Repentance?
Seeking for asolution?
Commitment to sin no longer?
Working out one’s salvation with fear and trembling?
So...all are welcome? Say so, if you wish. Snow or no snow, though, consider carefully whether anything impure can ever enter Heaven.
“consider carefully whether anything impure can ever enter Heaven.”
We are all impure. That’s the point.
Repent. Believe.
“We are all impure. That’s the point.
Repent. Believe.”

This site needs an “another dumbass doesn’t know fecal matter from shinola” button.
deep. like 1-2 mm deep.
When you not jagging off to PBA championship tournaments and dreaming about glass blown Christmas ornaments, do you think about washing your wife beater t-shirts in anything other than cold water?
Teacher? Teacher? You want to be a teacher? Honey, prostitutes make twice that much money. - Ryan Styles
Jesus indeed invites all, but He has rules outside of just showing up.
Scripture teaches salvation is unto the Lord and that we are directed to call upon the name of the Lord.
Salvation is not eating food (or transubstantiation would be the redeeming factor), rather in the confession that Jesus is Lord and receiving him as such.
I don't pretend to be a theologian, but the marital feast of the Lamb is for born again believers who are in fact every bit ONCE one as described, but no more because of His grace and forgiveness.
Your statement leads one to think that you can just show up for breakfast.
It doesn't work that way.
SAVE AND READ
REPENT. BELIEVE...
2 crucial points that were omitted in the article.
This falls under the idea of “cheap grace”— a God without wrath, salvation without repentance, a Christ without a cross.
It’s not my message and it’s implied I guess once your at the table, the Word of salvation you will hear.
I look at it like criminal round ups where they offer free TVs and they show up at some school gymnasium only to be arrested.
...only in this case saved.
The Holy Spirit runs the wrath department.
First you have to get the sinners to hear the message.
They are all suffering. Trapped in hopelessness.
Open the door. Teach them they are loved.
Teach them they are forgiven.
That is exactly what Jesus did that pissed everyone off.
Excellent
You must first believe you are a sinner who deserves Hell. If you don’t believe that, you don’t need a Savior. A drowning man who thinks he is swimming has no need of a lifeguard.
I think the point is regardless of past transgression, past sin, no matter duration or depth, all are welcome to be received into the Kingdom of God.
...but as you rightfully point out, you must believe that Jesus is the way and the truth into that Kingdom.
Hope for all and pointing out the fallacy of self righteousness is the message here.
Good posts...i don’t believe the author was correct in assuming that people who were engaged in righteous deeds were not at the feast already, already having repented and believe in Jesus Christ as the prophesied redeemer. But there are many false “christians” and the point is well taken.
