Theory: Remember Israel bragged forever they didn't even have a case well into 2020; then after their first confirmed case Feb 21 2020 (from the Diamond Princess); then bragged they didn't have an outbreak; and then it was early April they had a major outbreak in Bnei Brak, and then they were as screwed as everyone else.

I think the bug was probably lurking in the filth of Gaza and Hebron all of winter 2020, the way the average Chinese guy in his mid-20s with burner phones and a thousand crypto wallets are now the world's money launderers. Remember Abbas got it in late March 2020 and nearly croaked. Erekat did croak in November.

So given the way the virus cycles they probably did miss the winter 2020 cycle that we had in the US, so they are a full cycle behind, ie, they still have caches of a vulnerable population.
