Reminds me of the movie House 2.

Which I recommend, btw.

We were watching this movie at a friend’s house.

In it there’s a Jaws-like build up to the appearance of a critter who is anything but.

“A dogerpeller.” one of us said.

About 4 or 5 minutes later another fella fell over laughing.

Had to look that up. It would have been funnier had I devoted 88 minutes to watching the movie!
