Marcus Garvey founded the Black Star Line shipping company.
It consisted of ships purchased with contributions from Garvey’s followers - who were hired to work as crew for the ships.
The Black Star Line went bankrupt because its employees pilfered anything of value on the ships that wasn’t welded down.
