Former professional basketball player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar said Friday on MSNBC’s “The Beat” that Major League Baseball moving the All-Star Game from Atlanta, GA following the passage of a new voter law “means something to everybody.”
Melber asked, “Kareem, what does it mean for Major League Baseball to take a stand like this right now?”
Abdul-Jabbar said, “I think it’s very significant, Ari, because it shows that this means something to everybody. This is something that we all want to see end. Voter suppression is not what democracy is about. We all want to see it end. By Major League Baseball making a statement like that, they show that they are concerned and that the people — that so many of their players are people of color, they’re probably worried about it also.”

Oh yes, it does mean something - that wokeness has corrupted almost every “institution”.
Fool.
He’s correct, to Hell with MLB.
To be fair, I haven’t watched a baseball game since 2008.
Taking a stand against something that doesn’t exist.
It does indeed mean something - false narratives, stupidity, and ignorance.
I won’t watch MLB games until they play in Georgia. There how’s that?
It means the left do not want us to have free and fair elections.
It means MLB will lose a lot of money.
That is true Lou Alcindor. Enjoy your coke and remember to fly delta.
Yawn......
Everybody is an absolute inferring literally, E V E R Y O N E.
And in this applied case of Georgia’s voting law, it is NOT ‘something to everyone,’ KareemIdiot. Get your social justice woke arse back into the cave from whence you came yo.
Do minorities understand the what Democrats are actually saying. It is minorities are to stupid to know how to vote. In one example, their lead attorney is saying Georgians are to stupid to know what their drivers license number is.
Wake up people.
Sure does!
It means I will not watch MLB this season and next season
Alcindor has always been a guy filled with misplaced anger.
It seems that the Commissioner’s office made this self inflicted mortal wound without fully consulting all the owners of the teams. This will result in even lower attendance at games, much lower ratings for broadcasts and a catostophic loss of revenue. Some of the marginal teams will go bankrupt without the prevailing national media contracts. Those contracts and revenues depend on ratings and the willingness of advertisers to spend their money. IMHO Fox and even woke ESPN will demand a renegotiation of their contracts and will not renew with MLB at their end
It only says that MLB baseball is run by no-nothing idiots that are willing to believe any cancel culture narrative the Dims and their allies put out.
Instead of having the brains to look into claims and make a reasoned decision themselves, they fold like a cheap suit.
I hope the TV viewership for the All Star Games is way below prior years.
Heard something on the radio that could be true.
Some areas have limited poll stations, decreasing easy access to polling locations.
Reason?
They cannot find local people to staff the polling stations they currently have.
My parents called it the “boobtune” for entirely different reasons than I thought. Id prefer it to be what my 13y.o. self thought it meant..
