Major League Baseball pulled the 2021 All-Star Game from Atlanta, a direct response to Georgia’s controversial new voting law.
It will generate tweets of celebration, admiration and self-congratulation.
And it’s exactly the wrong move.
Pulling the Game out of Georgia won’t even touch the true targets of critics' anger and most importantly, will do nothing to address the crucial matters of voter suppression and education.
Some background. In the 2020 presidential election, Georgia voted blue for the first time since 1992, handing Joe Biden many of the final electoral votes needed to unseat Donald Trump. Two months later, Georgia voters favored two Democratic Senate challengers, shifting control of the entire Senate to Democrats. For Republicans, it was a humiliating three losses … even here in Georgia, where humiliating losses are a way of life.
Spurred on by an infuriated base, Georgia Republican legislators set out to overhaul the state’s voting laws.
The bill’s origins — based on Republicans’ understandable frustration at losing three crucial elections so badly, but also on loyalty to Trump and his repeatedly discredited conspiracy theories that Georgia’s election was stolen from him — caused activists and commentators to take up rhetorical arms.
Georgia already provided a perfect example for how to rally the electorate in service of a cause. Stacey Abrams, who narrowly lost to Kemp in a controversial 2018 gubernatorial election, didn’t just complain that the system was rigged, she created the Fair Fight initiative for voter education. Abrams’ work registered more than 800,000 new voters in Georgia, voters decisive in turning the red state blue.

Boycott the MLB and their All Screwball Game until they pledge to stand with Americans and demand fair elections. 2020 WAS FREAKING STOLEN. Those MLB @$$holes need to admit that and demand that it be stopped. NO FOREIGN VOTERS!!!! This is America not the sewers they are running away from.

Well - it’s been years since I’ve been to a game!! And I didn’t buy anything, so I have no idea.

Cheapest: Miller High Life and Busch Light are available in 12 oz. cans for $5.
Most expensive: 24 oz. cans of Corona, Pacifico and Sol sell for $13.50.

The speech the Atlanta Braves front office should give but won’t:
“We are greatly disappointed in the decision of MLB to move the All-Star Game away from Atlanta.
“It is our belief that baseball is an American pastime, and so it is above political differences. People of all political stripes should feel comfortable enjoying the sport of baseball.
“Unfortunately, MLB has chosen to make all of professional baseball a political venture, and moreover has chosen to embrace one political point of view to the exclusion of others. This is not in the interests of baseball, and must not be allowed to continue.
“It is therefore the decision of the Atlanta Braves that we will no longer participate in Major League Baseball. Effective immediately, we will not play any games with any MLB teams who support the actions of the MLB leadership in taking an unnecessary political stance, and in unjustly punishing the people of metro Atlanta and the world-wide fans of the Atlanta Braves.
“It is our intention to join with other like-minded MLB teams and form our own, separate league, on the principle that American baseball is for all Americans, regardless of politics, race, creed, or any other aspect of American life.
“We sincerely hope that the leadership of MLB will reconsider its brash and foolish act. Nevertheless, our association with MLB and with the National League is hereby dissolved.”

Delta Air lines, Major League Baseball & Coca Cola have done major damage to their product lines by injecting themselves into the political world of Georgia!!!
United Airlines, Jet Blue, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Air, American Airlines are having a ball soaking up passengers that will no longer support or fly on Delta Air Lines. MLB is already in the dirty swamp, to begin with, and Coca Cola had to be both nuts and insane to comment on the Georgia politics...idiots...all of them!!! LMAO!!!
Literally as far back as I can remember I have never missed a Red Sox opening day and it was always a very exciting day. Opening day was yesterday and I couldn’t tell you who won and I couldn’t tell you most of the players on the Red Sox. I truly could care less at this point. I’m sure in Massachusetts I’m the exception to the rule but at least it’s a start.
