The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) released a report Tuesday documenting the $36 million spent in 14 urban counties of Texas in the 2020 election by the Mark Zuckerberg-funded Center for Technology and Civic Life (CTCL).

According to the report:

Grant award letters showed Texas counties were given money to help shift voting to the mail and away from traditional procedures in Texas law. The large blue leaning counties received huge sums to transform their elections. Smaller red counties did not receive anything close. Mandated changes included were:

Drive-thru voting Mail voting sorting assets Polling place rental expenses Temp labor expenses, hazard pay Personal protective equipment (PPE) Voter education/outreach/radio costs Dallas County was the biggest recipient of CTCL funding among the 14 urban counties in the state, receiving more than $15 million. Thirteen other counties received the remaining $21 million of CTCL funding, including Harris County (Houston), which received more than $9 million:

Is Hawaii a suburb like CHYNAfornia now? A pair of viruses.

In my County in Central Texas, CTCL offered $$$ to ensure voting integrity, and Personal Protective Equipment for election workers. The County Commissioners turned it down because of the sources of the grant money.

I was surprised that some nearby counties that historically vote strongly Republican couldn’t wait to take CTCL free money. Anecdotally, when comparing nearby counties who took the money, and comparing it to past elections, the counties that took the money had a larger percentage of blue votes than in past elections. Not enough to flip the counties blue, but I did post about it on FR at the time.

Only two FReepers found it of any interest, even though CTCL was dropping loads of cash in other states/cities considered as swing-able.

Thanks for posting this, Marvin.

I am familiar with the Zuckerberg election issue, but I have never read details like this before.

I have not heard about the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) before.

PILF is the group that broke the story on this.

I looked up PILF in Wiki.

You would not believe the Hard Left hatchet job that Wiki does on PILF.

I wonder if Wiki understands that Conservatives instantly know that PILF must be an effective Conservative friend if Wiki is trying to destroy them!

I have seen this in action during the men in women’s bathroom city council vote in tiny coal town WY. Out of state paid provocateurs and a few, well paid residents transformed the public school there. God is great because families buckled down and sent their kids to private Christian school.
America has rejected all of the dem policies and thier leader.. we will persevere.
Kids obviously dont need public school anyway, as evidenced by a a year without it.

All states need to pass laws banning this sort of thing. This is obviously done for partisan advantage.

Excellent! This is exactly what needs to happen in all states.

Texas seems pretty on the ball when it comes to election integrity - they turned down dominion as well.
