Perhaps the better question is, who can get their tanks where they intend to be used?
Everyone talks them down, but tanks are spooky to any sane person. Yeah missiles, etc. But a tank will kill you if you make the slightest mistake or you don’t happen to have a missile that day.
And tankers are the missing link. Don’t kid yourself. Not quite grunt, not quite technician. All the worst attributes of both. The comedic uncaring cruelty of a grunt, and the very deadly tech of a tank at their fingertips.
This is just from my watching tanks and tankers. Even friendly tanks should worry a sane person. No tank is ever really 100% your friend... and that’s no joke.

And of course, just as important as logistics, is support as well as the training/experience of the tankers themselves.
Well it would seem Russia and China have a far easier time playing with their tanks together than either of them with the usa.

You are probably right. There are some smaller Russian and NATO unmanned tanks which may replace the ones we have now. Beside the point, why did the author not include Germany’s tank?

You don’t deploy tanks without backup. Sounds like someone didn’t know what sort of new backup was needed.
The presence of effective drones just means someone will now sell the army counter-drone-warfare drones.
That said, the availability of drones could be a boon to mobile artillery for forward fire control and I would look for future generations of tanks to give up a little of their low profiles to allow for higher gun elevation just so they can get in on the game on an as need basis.

China or Russia could have the best tanks in the world, but I have no fear of ever facing one.
Every year in his unit or another they pulled mangled corpses or body parts out of the turrets or out from under them.
A tank will kill its own crew or friendly forces almost as easily as it kills the enemy, which is why training is absolutely critical.

It’s not clear the Germans will actually build their new models. BTW, Rheinmetall has moved a lot of its R&D and production to the US or Britain because they don’t expect a lot of purchases from Europe.
Perhaps more to the point (as with any weapon system), who fields the best tank crewmen?
My bet would be on the US, but then for how long as the SJWs have their way with our military...
