Actually it is probably absolutely true ... for CNN employees who have never, I repeat never, been accused of being smart or having a firm grasp of the obvious.

To be fair, at age 12, girls often do not look very different from boys. Only at puberty do the obvious differences show up. Plus, it was a corpse which means it might be damaged and even less recognizable as a boy or girl. I could be wrong, but I don't think it's SOP for first responders to look inside a corpse's clothes?

You miss my point. The Border Patrol said they did not know the ‘gender’ of the child. More correctly, they should have said they did not know the ‘sex’ of the child.

Nobody should be discriminated against for their physical appearance except for that humongus freak show Dr. Rachel Levine (formerly of the PA. Dept of Health, now blessing our country as a key person in DH&HS).
