The reason ‘knives’ are better is we can insist on ALL knives being turned in. Even butter knives - and resteranunt knives and knives fishermen carry.
The point is when housewives start screaming that taking away their kitchen knives won’t stop a thug murdering an innocent it makes our case for NOT disarming law biding citizens.
We can lecture for decades - they’re not getting it. Propose legislation inconveniencing them and they’ll come around.
