That’s offset by people like me, who work from home, only get out once a week, and have used the same 3 masks for over a year. I did toss one mask after coughing goo into it.
Just start making masks out of those paper bags they make you use. They won’t be any more effective than the masks you’re wearing now, but at least you’ll be helping the environment.
I bought two cheap masks a year ago, and used one of them since then. I refused to pay for any more. When I visited my oldest son a couple of weeks ago, he gave me two new ones. I live alone, and only wear a mask when I go to the store once a week, or to my doctor appointments. If I have to mail a package, I use the self-service kiosk at my local post office, and I refuse to wear a mask in the lobby.
about the same here. I figure the masks are disinfected after a week. I just leave them in the car. Sun should do the work.
And it depends on how many cars are in the post office parking lot as to whether I wear a mask.
Maybe they can take a cue from the movie industry; they place bins outside to collect used 3-D eyeglasses for re-use. Place a bin outside buildings, people leaving can toss masks in, and people arriving can grab one before entering. Recycling making life better for the environment!
