It’s easy to know who got to him. The companies Board, the Sec of Transportation, Rev Al boycotting Delta, etc etc etc etc. Or, just being asked to step down over concerns about his leadership.

The reality of regionalized, hub & spoke air travel today is most people really don’t enjoy the luxury of being able to pick and choose their carriers.
If you live in much of the South and want to go someplace beyond the reach of your car, you have to fly Delta, unless you have time and money to burn.
There wasn’t much choice in the airline space before COVID. After COVID, there will be even less...which companies like Delta love.

I think it is worse than you say. I believe these people are asked to comment and along with the request comes a subtle threat. It is nothing but cowardice on the part of these “parrots” which makes them say things they cannot possibly be informed of in any meaningful way.
