Authorities have arrested a man who viciously attacked an Asian American woman near New York City’s Times Square.
Police on Wednesday charged 38-year-old Brandon Elliot with assault and hate crime charges after officers blanketed the midtown Manhattan neighborhood with wanted posters and offered a $2,500 reward for information leading to the whereabouts of the man seen on surveillance video Monday brutalizing the woman as she walked to church.
Elliot is on lifetime parole after he was released from prison in 2019, according to an NYPD spokesperson. He was convicted of murdering his own mother back in 2002. The court date for his latest charges has yet to be determined, police said.
"The neighborhood where Monday’s attack occurred, Hell’s Kitchen, is predominantly white, with an Asian population of less than 20%, according to city demographic data."

The perp stabbed his mother 3 times in the chest.
And NYS let him loose.
You can figure off the hate crime (if convicted)...around a max of 10 years. On the 2nd degree assault....five to sixteen years. He could be in prison for 15 to 20 years.
And did he get out right away on NY’s Catch and Release justice reform?

Doubt it, 2-3 years parole thats it - no time to be served; he didn’t even do 20 years for murdering his mother, remember this is NY, where the government punishes law abiding citizens, and rewards criminals.

Yep, government lets him out, defunds the police and then criticizes private citizens for not jumping into the middle of a fight with no information.
If a white person jumped in to help, they likely would have been arrested for beating up a black and charged with a hate crime.
I would have walked by as well - all those involved are statistically democratic voters - until proven otherwise I have zero sympathy for anyone involved victim or perp.

What did this woman do to provoke this young man? It must have been something really horrific. Fortunately the NY justice system will not treat him harshly. He will be able to continue his carrier as a rap singer or perhaps a nuclear physicist.
