ought is seldom used without “to” or “not”(or not to).
The actual definition of “ought”? who knows...if anything it’s subjective.
How should one read your use of it and the following admonishment:
“You have removed yourselves from the community, and
trashed the community so you need to stay OUT of the community.”
Pretty weak and mean.
