NRA Memberships Spike as Droves of Americans Reject Democrat Gun Control
Breitbart ^ | March 29 2021 | AWR HAWKINS

Posted on 03/29/2021 3:27:42 AM PDT by knighthawk

NRA memberships are surging as Americans across the country reject the Democrats’ efforts to restrict the Second Amendment via gun control.

Breitbart News spoke with the NRA’s Andrew Arulanandam on Sunday and he indicated the civil rights organization has been “gaining 1,000 new members a day since January, from online signups alone.”

Breitbart News asked if there was any one certain thing that was contributing to the membership surge, and he pointed to the Democrats’ incessant gun control push.

As an NRA member since the 60s, {not always happy with NRA officers and decisions} I am happy to see new membership.

The NRA has made many members leave because of corruption and infighting, but at least the recovered from the disease of supporting demonRATs.

There was a time when some demonRAT congress critters were better defenders of gun owners rights than their pubbie opponents, John Murtha of Johnstown, PA was a crook, but he did defend guns rights.

There are maybe a handful of demonRATs that protect gun owners, but very few left.

As you I’ve been an NRA member since the 60’s. But unlike you I’m not completely happy with current membership. I have long felt that Wayne LaPierre should go. He’s corrupt and his presence hurts the brand and it’s membership. Putting it in plain English the guy stinks and is dirty.

As a 30 year Life member I completely agree about La Pierre. The NRA will get none of my money until he is gone.

Yes. The big media companies have been pumping out the canard about LaPierre and his “greedy lobbyists” all along. Most people who agree with the Second Amendment confirmation of our rights see right through the propaganda and give more support to the NRA. It’s not hard to understand what’s going on, because those who work for oligarchs against our rights complain only about the NRA.

More suits for Wayne LaPierre. He’s loving it since he really could not care less about guns.

You do know that Wayne is elected and re-elected by the NRA members, that you claim he is hurting.

Are NRA members smart enough to vote for Trump but not smart enough to vote against Wayne?

Just because the NY AG brings charges against anyone, does not make them corrupt.

I've read the stories about the suits and the lavish life styles, but I don't know how much is true.

My wife kept getting calls from the NRA for donations, so before I gave my wife the phone I coached her to ask one question.

When the person on the phone finished their pitch, she asked “is Wayne LaPierre still Executive VP?”

“Why yes, ma’am, he certainly is!”

“Then no donations until he is gone!” -CLICK-

Say what you will about the suits, I don't know or care.

But for you to claim that he doesn't care about our gun rights, makes you an idiot of the highest order.

The mods should ban you and your partner should have you committed, you are not sane enough to be around a gun.

There is no law that requires you to be a member of the NRA, if he's that bad, quit.

Wayne LaPierre most certainly is NOT elected by the NRA members. Executive Vice President is a multi-year contract position approved by the Board of Directors, and LaPierre has made sure that the Board is filled with cronies by making sure many of the members get other lucrative contracts themselves.

LaPierre must go.

The NRA is a little too namby-pamby for me. I would also recommend the Virginia Citizen’s Defense League (VCDL) and the Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO) for defense of the 2nd Amendment.

Having been a member since the late 60’s I am quite aware of how the election process works. I am also aware that loyalties run deep and that everyone is not aware of the extent of Wayne’s corruption. As the axiom goes; “power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely”. Sir Wayne has been in power much too long and has become corrupt, fat, and lazy. It’s time for new blood.

You're embarrassing yourself with your abysmal ignorance. I feel sorry for you. Anyone as stupid as you doubtless voted for Biden. Stay off Freerepublic. You have no business here.

And stop contacting me. I feel nauseous after reading your drivel. You're on my ignore list.

I was a member for years, but let my membership lapse when the NRA endorsed Mitch McConnell.

I rejoined a year or so ago. I figure it’s better to be a member than to not be a member; strength in numbers and all that.

That being said, I’m not an ardent fan of the organization.

Same thing happened back in 1968. The NRA went over a million members for the first time.

The left:

1. Trump is literally Hitler.
2. Tyranny can never happen here, so you won’t need any guns, so we’re going to take them.

Get a clue. Like him or not, Lapierre led the charge after Newtown to push back against new laws and that was no easy task.

In the end, we won that. You people have a short memory.
