Atlantic City To Spend $36,000 To Repaint BLM Street Tribute After Driver Confusion

After a city council vote Wednesday, Atlantic City will repaint the Black Lives Matter tribute which confused drivers on the street.

Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small said the 2020 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard street mural honoring Black Lives Matter would be repainted smaller, due to driver confusion caused by its massive yellow lettering. “It was an oversight on our part, and when we realized it, we fixed it,” Small said Thursday.

During the Wednesday night meeting, Acting Police Chief James Sarkos told the council the mural violated state Department of Transportation regulations, forcing them to close the street to prevent accidents. City Council member LaToya Dunston accused the city of wasting tax dollars without knowing the rules that govern such projects.

The mural was the result of a September 2020 community event, in which volunteers donated paint, materials, and their own time to cover that section in block letters reading “BLACK LIVES MATTER.” The mural was a compromise between city officials and activists who wanted to paint it on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, meant to avoid further conflict during the racial justice riots following the death of George Floyd last summer.

Yep. Hispanic (17%) and H-1b immigrants outnumber blacks (13%) significantly, and their numbers grow. And they mostly work and are productive = tax PAYERs.

Blacks are in for a rude awakening soon. Wish I could conjure some pity for them, but I cannot — their attitudes, mouths and misbehaviors prevent it.

And, ironically, they were one-third of the 2020 Vote Fraud cabal. They've got the most to lose, the other 2/3 will still make money and won't be affected.

I said on this forum that the city officials had broken the laws in Washington and New York, and other cities, for destroying traffic control markings on the streets.

This is a crime. They were not prosecuted for their crimes.

Suppose someone painted “Abortion is murder” on a city street. Hard jail time! guaranteed!

I just looked at about a half dozen dictionary sites, not one said a word about a “mural” being placed on a street, floor or sidewalk. One did say “or other surface”, wikipedia of course, where any liberal can edit it to mean whatever they want.

All of them also specifically cite a work of art or painting too, not just a text slogan slopped onto a street with a paint roller.

And why should this be on our streets to begin with, when it obviously glorifies one race, while our constitution and/or declaration of independence specifically say ALL men are created equal? It does not say unless your political group disagrees.

Black lives never really did matter. It was only black lives taken by whites (outside of abortionists, of course) that really matter. But that would be too cumbersome to paint on a street “mural”.

Do blacks really need to be pandered to like this? Paint a lame slogan on the street? I’ve passed through some of the neighborhoods and seen the graffiti, so maybe something like that that is of great importance to them. Pitiful.

I would think normal Blacks must be more pissed about this than we are.
