Our building was finished just before the surge. I built a lot of shelving with $7 OSB and $4 2x10’s. Now the osb is $35. I’m going for other materials. I found some really nice 5mm paneling that stains beautifully and has a thin MDF center and is strong enough for my purposes for $14.99.
Holy crap! I just checked it out at lowes. It’s now $25.50!

Destructive weather, tornadoes, floods, along with the after-effects of the covid-19 pandemic,
and resulting lock-downs have affected the lumber industry.
This has resulted in an unseasonably high demand and low supply of lumber and wood materials.
I am not sure, but I believe that Canada was thinking about imposing a surcharge on wood products when the PM was miffed at the USA.
Just finished this week Thursday with building in Talisay, Cebu, Philippines. Dropped over a Million pesos into the project. Building material prices increased a lot during the build.
I could turn it around and sell for a couple mil now, but with the inflation that would barely keep up with the money spent.
