Red Oak has gone up 20%/ board foot in the past 4 months, where I live.
You're not kidding. I retired last year and finally had a chance to get into woodworking, but my wife and I get sticker shock just walking through the lumber section of Home Depot-- and a lot of the wood is crappy. They should be ashamed to be selling it!
