I have heard that Canada is much worse than here.
We can not treat mental illness with surgery and hormones. There, I said it. “transgendered” is a myth. PERIOD!
Or at least stand their ground when challenged:
During Thursday’s proceeding in front of Judge Frank Mora, one of the attorneys advised the judge that Salem, who identifies herself as ‘non-binary’ prefers the pronouns of ‘they or them’. Judge Mora responded, saying “I will not be using a plural pronoun for a singular person.”

No problem. I have messed with languages a fair bit (especially Biblical Greek which I have taught a number of times) and figuring out how English has devolved is an interesting things. It is always nice to share what I have learned with someone who is interested.
I’d never encountered Youse until I went east for University and started meeting people from Jersey.
I’ve settled in a part of Canada where it is also commonly used. While not the Queen’s English, it and Y’all are both more clear than the devolved standard English, and as St. Augustine teaches, it is better to be clear with improper grammatical form than obtuse with impeccable grammar.
Canada is a big place. Many parts of it (i.e. large portions of the urban population) certainly are guano crazy, but Canada is mostly lots of sparsely populated land populated by fairly sensible individuals (who are greatly outnumbered by those living in the dozen largest metro areas).
Punch back twice as hard.
How do you address someone by their preferred pronouns? Can people demand something other than “you?”
Thou, tha, ye, y’all, vosotras?
In the medical field you can replace he or she by “patient” or “pt.” Teachers can use “student”.
He addressed the students as “Mr.” or “Ms.”
I’ve thought this one through (I teach at the university level) and I have no problem allowing students to pick between Mr., Ms. Miss, or Mrs. If a guy wants to be addressed as Mrs. Smith (or Miss Smith or Ms. Smith), or a woman as Mr. Jones, I figure that they are the ones who will look foolish not I.
If they are below the age of majority, I would also be willing to address them as Master or Mistress, but I’m a little old fashion.

He addressed the person in question with gendered pronouns?
Why would you do that? All the 2nd person pronouns I can think of right off are neutral.
He addressed the students as “Mr.” or “Ms.”

Please let me know if you want on or off the Ohio Ping list.
