The problem seems to be the author. Writing “dad of three” normally indicates he’s currently raising three children.

I believe that Gene Eric and iffinegan were discussing the age of the victim's children - not the ages of the perpetrators, which are stated in the report. Because the report describes the victim as a "dad," they apparently inferred that his children must be young.

You are inferring that his "reason" was to "support his adult children" - but the article refers only to his having immigrated in order to "to build a better life for himself and his family" - a rather platitudinous comment that could, in fact, mean virtually anything.
It requires a kind of tortured logic to conclude from that that he was the primary breadwinner for a drove of economically dependent relatives.

Some well respected men mentioned in the Bible were pretty old, when they had kids. Having kids as an old man is quite an accomplishment, really, with all that goes with having kids. ;)

He could be Muslim but he could also be Christian, or athiest, or whatever ...a person’s name is typically selected by someone other than ones’ self, a name does not obligate a person to act the part, and names are always chosen by people who have no clie about the individual’s future beliefs.
How do you know for sure he was a muslim? Pakistan also has a significant Christian community
