Interesting comments from Rand. He says (correctly) that most of the leaders in Afghanistan are drug dealers.

from the cowardly backstabbing GOP.
well, SCUM-GOP who embraced the fall of FREEDOM,
as you took counterfeit money, babies to rape,
cocaine, and honeypots, from the CCP,
and transferred OUR PAC money from Trump ... to Biden,
here is a message to YOU:

Admit we lost and bring all the troops home from Afghanstan and the Middle East.
There is nothing there worth the life of a single American service member or a single American taxpayer dollar.

Wars end for two reasons:
- one side has been demoralized into giving in
- one side’s capability to wage war has been degraded to the point where they can’t fight back/are totally destroyed.
If one of those two conditions isn’t met the war may change shape, but it doesn’t end.

A negotiated end to WW2 with the Japanese would have saved face but the issues would have resurfaced. Look at the Treaty at Versaillas. It’s always one-way.

That premise is flawed in any application other than 'total war'. We've so hamstrung ourselves with no definable goals and inane ROE, these conditions aren't really applicable to the current situation.
We aren't fighting a war, we're being terminally stupid.
