The lessons of history are too plain to believe that the odds are not against us but we have one ally, the Chinese. They may, and vary likely will, overplay their hand. Any incident that unites America such as Pearl Harbor or 9/11 could well galvanize the inherent resilience of the nation.
Such a galvanizing event is necessary because we are currently akin to the proverbial frog in the boiling pot. Our entire culture must be reversed and that cannot come from appeals to logic or even rhetorical exhortation, it must come from a slap in the face.
