A store where the suspect in the Colorado supermarket massacre bought his gun reportedly said the sale was lawful after he passed a background check.

Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, 21, bought his AR-15-style Ruger AR-556 at the Eagles Nest Armory in Arvada, about 20 miles southeast of Boulder, 9NEWS reported.

The store’s owner, John Mark Eagleton, said the accused gunman passed a background check before making the purchase.

“We are absolutely shocked by what happened and our hearts are broken for the victims and families that are left behind,” he wrote in a statement to the outlet.

“Ensuring every sale that occurs at our shop is lawful, has always been and will always remain the highest priority for our business,” Eagleton continued.

“Regarding the firearm in question, a background check of the purchaser was conducted as required by Colorado law and approval for the sale was provided by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation,” he wrote.

The shooter in Boulder bought an assault weapon a week before the massacre. He had a conviction for assault and a history of aggressive acts.

Where did he buy the gun that a background check wasn't done?

That would answer your question. Definitively.— John Mullins (@johnatusc) March 25, 2021

Sorry, wrong answer. He got a background check. Thanks for playing!!!

Passed background check because it did not ask if he was a member of the Islamic Cult. Maybe the shop owners should have asked about his intentions? Maybe his family should have reported his Islamic Cult ties and behavior?

Kid is schizo. We need more stringent background checks.

“Maybe the shop owners should have asked about his intentions?”

Invites a lawsuit. Need strong laws to protect FFLs so that they deny sales to nutcases based on their own judgment, and without risk.

“Maybe his family should have reported his Islamic Cult ties and behavior?”

That does happen, once in while, particularly in Europe, where a legitimate immigrant has a kid there, and it’s the kid who goes Jihad. I know of at least one case where the father ratted him out and probably prevented a mass attack. But I think that’s quite rare.

of course.

The DS, DO”J” and FI”B” NEEDED a FF to continue
their endless assaults against,
and now murder of,
the American PEOPLE.

Their SOP, as all can now see.

Kid is schizo. We need more stringent background checks.

Background checks are simply a step to universal gun registration.

They obviously do no real good.

Instead of background checks, have a list of verified people which is accessable to the public, of those ineligible to own firearms. The list has to be able to be appealed by those who are on wrongly put on it.

The sale by anyone to someone who is ineligible, would be a crime.

The entire idea of allowing the government to give permission before a person may buy a gun is an affront to the Second Amendment.

Allowing everyone to check if people are ineligible, might help.

But the idea that you can keep guns away from people who have never committed a crime, is a no go zone in a free republic.

So, the FBI knew about this idiot and he passed checks anyway.

Wow, another in a series of N FBI fails.

Where N is a really big number.

It’s “al Issa”, not Alissa.

There was a time in America when the local cops knew who the schizos and who were habitual bad guys. “Preventive policing” made sure people like Al Issa did not get such weapons. In fact the community itself would demand the police take preventive measures. No cop today in their right mind would even approach Al Issa regardless of their suspicions. There is no more police radar. In fact people like Al Issa have more people shielding and protecting him than investigating him regardless of his behavior and the signals he gives off.

ask if he was a member of the Islamic Cult.

A lot of people were fooled into thinking he was a white Christian Trump supporter. So that probably wasn’t on the shop owner’s mind. I guess you could go by the name but as someone else said that may not be advised

He plotted a attack on Jews and who helped ?
Drove 25 miles to that kosher store in a Jew hood .
The Obama Syrian refugees family
and the
mosque need to be investigated.
The family threw him under the bus
too quick.

Short memory?

What is your evidence of schizophrenia?

Alissa appears to be a run-of-the-mill Democrat.

Friends and acquaintances all said he spoke of people who were looking at him, but there were no people there. He saw people who weren’t there. He also was said by everyone who knew him to be paranoid, and that was still in high school, these things get worse as you get older. He should have had a tattoo that said “Do Not Sell Me A Gun”
