GlaxoSmithKline fired Moncef Slaoui — the feds’ former coronavirus vaccine czar — from one of its subsidiaries after an internal probe found he had sexually harassed one of the British drugmaker’s employees.

GSK said Wednesday it booted Slaoui from his post as chairman of the board of Galvani Bioelectronics, a medical research firm that’s majority-owned by the pharma giant.

Having been the focus of a sexual harassment “probe” I look at all accusations now as suspect. At the bottom of my “probe” was a manager who tried to use the company policies as an easy way to get rid of me. I had an exemplary record and the usual process where I had done something wrong wouldn’t work. (Counselling, an improvement letter and a “contract” to improve.) But accusing me of sexual harassment where I wasn’t even allowed to defend myself or even be informed the “probe” was taking place was the perfect vehicle. Perfect except for: I got the company lawyers involved and proved to them that getting rid of me by the chosen method opened the company up to unrestricted liability and the HR guy, who liked me, was getting his exclusive territory stepped on. I ended up with a letter in my file for a year. During that time, and forever after, I never talked to anyone I didn’t know unless I had at least one witness and I made certain I was never alone with anyone who had the power to file a complaint. On the exact day that was one year, I appeared in the HR manager’s office and he handed me the letter. They still got rid of me, but they had to wait for a general layoff.

Someone knew you were a conservative and set out to cancel you.

Trust me, they tried to do it 4 times to me. Leftists sending anonymous messages to HR making claims in order to get me terminated.

I now permanently work at home. I could not be happier about it. IT will all now be permanently remote.

No possibility of this happening ever again.

Why didn’t Congress hold hearings on the rampant fear and discrimination against conservatives?

George Orwell wrote about this in 1984. The totalitarians established an “Anti sex League” which was not only a mechanism of control but it was also designed to prevent not just intimacies but associations that could lead to resistance and disobedience. These harassment charges and most of the #me too movement are behavior modification, mind control and contrary to human nature. People normally have all sorts of conversations that often lead to intimacies. It is not normal to suppress this very human behavior. Nevertheless The Left needs to control people and this is a good way. As others have noted most men have only a superficial, guarded relationship with women at the workplace. This pleases the lesbian left.

At one time I was a company recruiter, probably the last white male company recruiter ever. An engineer and I went to a college career day. At the end of the session a female student came to our booth. She was an HR major. I told here we had no openings but I would pass her resume around the company and see if anybody could use her. The engineer told her, jokingly, that she could be my boss. We talked for a few minutes and she left. A couple days later the HR manager, my boss, said that a neighbor of one our employees had told that employee that his girlfriend told him we had acted unprofessional and alluded to sexual harassment. The HR manager felt obligated to do an investigation. The engineer and I did separate statements that were a hundred percent consistent. It went away mainly because there was no real complainant. I am convinced, though, that if the company I worked for was not a white, male, redneck run company I would have been fired even though we did and said absolutely nothing to that woman that was improper.

Yes, many younger HR managers (40 and under) are devout leftists and always on the lookout for sexual harassment, sexual discrimination and racism.

Our wonderful universities have instilled this in their minds and convinced them that these greedy, capitalistic companies are bastions of racism, sexism and unacceptable behavior.

Today, there is no standard for what is “sexual harassment.” A male can say “You look nice” and he’s gone. Or nothing at all. Whatever the woman says is taken as fact. The male is always guilty. He has no recourse. During the interview they are not looking for him to defend himself. They are looking for a way to justify firing him.

I know one person who experienced this in the mid 1980s. The woman’s story was all made up. The HR person wasn’t interested in the man’s story. It was a foregone conclusion that he would be fired, and so he was.

The male has no recourse. He is always guilty. The company will sacrifice any male, up to the CEO, so as to avoid having militant feminazis picketing the home office.

“Someone knew you were a conservative and set out to cancel you.”

While that may have been a component, it was not THE cause. The guy was as gay as can be. He had a framed photo of his significant other on his desk with something written on it like, “To the love of my life.” But, even that was not the issue. The issue was he is a sociopath. I went to him to discuss what he was doing to my direct boss. It was causing significant medical issues for the boss. What he was doing is called “crazy-making behavior.” I said, “What you are doing is killing Bill.” Without thinking, he replied, “Yeah, that’s not my issue and I don’t give a crap.” He saw my reaction and I realized instantly, my time at the company was limited. He was going to get rid of me because he knew, that I knew, he was a sociopath.

I did some research. One of the books I read was, “The Sociopath Next Door,” by Martha-Stout*. When it came to bosses, he ticked every box. While I read the description, the hair on my neck stood to attention.

I had been my own profit center. Unlike any other engineer there ever, I went out and found my own work and the company added its considerable fee on top of my billed hours. One day he called me into his office and demanded to know what this charge number was on my card. I told him it was for a job I’d sold to a customer. He said, “I can’t have you charging this while I’m laying off real people!” (Yeah, real people. Direct quote.) I ended up on overhead, for the first time in 15 years. That’s the kiss of death. I was gone in about four weeks. Normally, it would have been two. But the HR manager slow-walked it.

The male/female relationship is fertile ground for troublemakers, because not only traditionally but possibly biologically the male is somewhat more of an aggressor at the beginning.

For the state to step into this area too strictly is to disturb the status quo.

A lot of signaling has to become more subtle in order to evade Big Brother.

Also, it erases a lot of Christian friendship, which can be very warm and welcoming, whether the other person is the opposite sex or not. It disappears so it can’t be misinterpreted unwanted flirting. Of course this is probably a big bonus to the Left.
