So let’s apply that to the First Amendment, Right Dan?

Yes seeing how conservatives are so slow and dim-witted per the ‘Rats’ I look for them to pass a three day waiting period making it illegal for us to vote until three days after election day.

Looking forward to what common-sense licensing and regulations Democrats come up with for keeping your home free of quartered Bidentifa (perhaps a federal property tax?) or exercising your right not to give self-incriminating testimony.

You mean like the 2-week nationally recognized hunter safety course every state offers for free?

Dan Rather, the forger who got caught creating and publishing fraudulent documents in an attempt to derail President Bush, has no credibility whatsoever and CNN shows they're in the toilet by even having him as a guest.

I guess Mr. Rather intends to forge certificates of firearms training the same way he forged military records.

No. Gun ownership without licensing is much safer than driving a car with licensing. And gun ownership without licensing deters criminals while car ownership with licensing does not.

Then you should need training and a permit to buy a newspaper.

β€œthe right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

It didn’t say the right of the ‘Militia’, or the right of the ‘military’, it meant ordinary citizens.β€œ

Exactly. People read the 2nd incorrectly. It is a causal statement. Due to the need of a militia to protect a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Like everything in our great system, the 2A is a check and balance. The need is a militia to protect state, the check and balance of this needed evil is the people being armed.

Some say you need to be in a militia to bear arms. This is woefully incorrect, the people need to be armed to offset the militia.

in a certain way, he is correct.

the issue with doing this is that the state keeps records, and those records can and will be used as a list of whom to arrest or raid.

if he or someone can come up with a valid method of overcoming this issue, that would be great, but until then this is not a fully formed solution since the list becomes more of an issue than the likelihood of a shooting.

Well regulated is for the militia not the people. The armed people are the check and balance to the militia. Read 2A again, very clearly the militia and the armed populace are two different things. The sentence structure tells us so.

Danny Boy will be 90 in October.

My mother is 90.

She doesn't remember what she had for lunch 10 minutes ago.

One part of the preface goes with little remark. “Security of a free state.”

That is not meant to empower the government. The amendment fairly clearly sets out the proposition that there may come a time that the people and the government are in opposition, or that the government is no longer protecting “a free state.”

Right now the government is outside its constitutional boundaries. The fact that government says it is not out of bounds is of course to be expected. No illegitimate government ever admits it is illegitimate or out of bounds.

What the amendment says is that it is up to the militia, which is defined as the people, to be armed for the security of their own freedom. It is up to the people, not the standing army.

Every government is hostile to the people having true power. Ours is hostile to that, in spades. Much money is at stake.

I see your point about the two being distinct. But the militia is necessarily recruited from the people.

The only thing coming out of this senile 90-year-old gasbag's lying demented face is what his favorite flavor of Puddin Pop is, and whether his manservant had changed his diaper this morning.

Other than that, he needs to STFU.

A license to broadcast should be required for Dan and his ilk.

They can speak on street corners to their hearts’ content, but using the public airwaves should require INDIVIDUAL licenses.

And, if I could, I would deny this AH a license. He has abused the privilege far too often.

Idiot, I had training by a Military Sharp Shooter, took classes, passed both written and firing test administered by Ret. Police Officer. Passed the TBI/FBI search, 3 FREAKING TIMES, 2 UNDER THE GWB PATRIOT ACT, THAT WERE NOT A NECESSITY. I have a LIFETIME PERMIT,

And if the Tennessee House follows the Senate we will have CONSTITUNAL CARRY.

BTW I was sick as a dog 103 fever, and broke my 2 small toes the night before.
