Using that logic, you shouldn't be allowed to drive a vehicle unless you promise never to harm anyone else while behind the wheel.

No, the analogy would be if I wouldn’t maintain my car, didn’t get insurance and drove on the wrong side of the road. You know, refused to do the basic things known to protect other people.

No, a better analogy would be if you didn't get LED lights for the underside of your car, and then drove around in the dark with just your headlights.

Just because something might protect other people, incurs no obligation on oneself to do it. If I walked everywhere instead of driving, I bet my chances of running over and killing a pedestrian would be much lower too!
