“A rule that allows police to burst into your home without a warrant whenever they feel they are acting as ‘community caretakers’ is a threat to everyone’s security.”

So the liberal Karen next door clearly would love this to be the case.
I have visions of a dystopian future where fishing expeditions can happen at any time in the interest of the “community”.

The potential for abuse in this case makes abuse inevitable.

The mistake that liberals make, is the assumption that Karens are good and honest. That could not be further from the truth. I have a trailer-trash family next door and we have been feuding for a quarter-century. They know I'm armed and I've warned them not to trespass or mess with me. One of their daughters has made false allegations against me, and I made her back off under threat of a lawsuit for libel and slander, because I have video evidence of her lying. She called the county to tag my car as abandoned, and I got that thrown out because my car runs, is registered and insured; and I got the police to tag their car in return for violations. The police make numerous visits to their house for problems, and have arrested a couple family members. Many other issues.

The point of my mentioning this, is that their family members would love to call the cops to burst into my home to take my firearms, without due cause. Potential for abuse!
